We are behind a number of events this month with the Denver Art Museum and AIGA Colorado, all of them of course devoted to Typography. Here is the Symposium. Reserve your spot here.
Jeremy and I spent five days in the (per capita) Vandercook capital of the USA…(honestly it has to be…) even with guests. There were 12 presses in Studio 150; Six of them were Vandercooks plus an Asbern, and unnamed Italian press (Matilda) and a FAG. And three platen presses. Outstanding visit….bees, rattlesnakes, wood type and we had some BBQ too.
The presses outnumber the people 3:1, they are not connected to Skynet: I don’t think.

15" x 108 cm x and an Edition of 100 is the standard for the annual ACPA broadside, hand set with wood type. Nothing more. Nothing Less.
Rick spent three days working at the Historic Hatch Show Print in Nashville, TN. April 27-30, 2010. Putting away type, making the bacon sizzle and typesetting re-strikes—fun—with Brad, Jim, Bethany, Jennifer and the rest of the Hatch staff. Oh…BTW…CAT has CLAWS. DOG has TAIL. If you look at your almanac, you’ll see we were chased south to Alabama by the flood. Hatch and the type are unharmed, but the Grand Old Opry will need significant repair.
If you are interested in volunteering, entering, or joining us for any portion of the exhibition, take a look at the prospectus!
We have just begun the fundraising for the exhibit: Pressed.
Please join in, not only do we believe in the Kickstarter project, we also love ours…
